...you write an absurdly long title for your blog post to complain about it.
To be fair, it hasn't taken a few weeks in the sense that I've worked on it day and night and still haven't reached a point where I'm satisfied with it. Don't wanna be misleading. Rather, I thought I could finish it in one day a couple of weekends ago, and though I only worked on it that day, for an hour or so one weeknight, and then again for several hours on Sunday, It still sits in a pathetic state of non-completion.
I do want to improve the speed with which I paint. Which means I need to paint more. But I still struggle with the vicious circle in which I want to paint more, but I get frustrated when a "quick" painting takes a long time, so I end up painting... less? Because that makes sense...
Here is a wee sneak peek into the blob I've been working on:

I"ve made some progress since I took these photos, but not much. But it still just baffles me that I haven't been able to finish this yet.
I will admit: over the past few weeks, I have been a tad bit lazy. I haven't had any projects to work on for other people, so I've been able to just fiddle around with random stuff. And though I love to paint, I've really missed drawing, and I've been trying to come up with some good ideas for this printing project I've been going on about. So it's easy for the painting to fall on the back burner so that I have a little time to just have some fun.
What that really means to me is that I need to find even more time for art! I have so many projects I want to get into, that I spend half of my allotted time spinning in circles trying to decide what to do. Which is both a good and a bad problem to have.
So my goal is to have a finished painting to show you on Thursday. We'll see how much damage I can do!
Thanks!
Sarah
