Another blog post, so soon??? I've been trying for consistency with these things. Ya know, post every Friday, or at least roughly the end of the week/weekend-ish time. Obviously, though, I've failed miserably. Every time I set a constraint for myself, I can't help but wonder, "But what if I have more than one thing to write about per week?" Or I end up writing a post on Tuesday with the intention of not publishing it until Friday, but turn into a little kid who just made a finger painting of a dinosaur, and I'm bursting at the seams to share it with the world. WELL THIS IS MY DINOSAUR, FRIENDS.
I'm sorry. I've had a lot going on, and I tend to get excited.
To business! Today, I sat around, paced about, and mulled over my life decisions, all for the sake of one very small initiative.
I created an Etsy Shop.
It seemed like such a simple and logical next step to this whole venture. I figured I've been making some custom paintings, I've spent the past few days making a rabbit's litter worth of teensy watercolors, and there's no telling what I might end up making next, so why not put a few things up to sell? There's such beauty in these commissions that center around the passions of those who order them, but I'd be crazy not to make any art of my own, and it's (maybe?) worth sharing too! So anyway, I thought I could just throw a few things up there, type out the logical information one might need to make a purchase decision, and move on with my life.
That "easy" task took me all day.
You have to take halfway decent pictures (Which I still haven't accomplished... do you realize how much better things look in frames??? SO much better. Which means that I need to buy frames. ), decide on the perfect price, add information about returns, shipping, packaging, promotions, and my "shop's history," all while somehow marketing yourself to sound like the most magical artist who has ever arted, and on whose art you should spend your life savings.
I struggle with that last part. This will most certainly be the subject of an upcoming blog post, as I cannot believe that I am the only person who deals with this. For now, though, let's window-shop!
Click HERE (<- right there, just a little click-ery-do of the button) to check out my Etsy shop!
I have listings for the initial fee for a custom painting, as well as most of the watercolors I've been working on. Below are some of the listings.

As will come to be no surprise to anyone at all, it's a work in progress, and probably always will be. Which, obviously, makes it something I'm going to enjoy immensely. So keep your eyes on the page! I will do my best to update it regularly with new listings, improve the policies, and maybe eventually figure out how to show it off to more than just my Facebook friends. I'm on my way!
Enjoy!
